Megan L. Brooks, Principal Attorney

Megan graduated from William Mitchell College of Law (now Mitchell Hamline) in January 2015. Prior to law school, Megan earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Legal Studies from Hamline University. She then went on to work as a paralegal at a mid-size firm in St. Paul where she worked in the areas of estate planning and real estate transactions. Megan also has experience both prosecuting and defending against criminal charges.

In 2016, Megan decided to open her own firm, bringing her years of experience and the network she has established to help her clients in family, criminal, and juvenile matters. Megan enjoys helping people and recognizes that, when it comes to family court and the justice system, the individuals involved are often left confused, overwhelmed, and in need of someone who can guide them. She knows that these same individuals often don’t have the time or the money to deal with large, busy, and expensive firms. Owning her own firm has allowed Megan to do what she loves while providing her clients with the time they deserve and a price tag they can afford.

When not working, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband Dave, their children, grandchildren, and 16-year-old puppy, Agent 99. She also helps her community by volunteering with the Legal Assistance of Dakota County.

Adam L. Hinz, Associate Attorney

Adam graduated from William Mitchell College of Law (now Mitchell Hamline) in January 2015. Prior to law school, Adam earned his Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Studies from North Central University in Minneapolis. During law school, Adam served on the Student Bar Association, volunteered with the Minnesota Justice Foundation, and externed for the Hon. Patrick Diamond in Ramsey County.

As an attorney, Adam has clerked for the Hon. Gordon L. Moore, III in Nobles County (now a Minnesota supreme court justice) and prosecuted criminal, juvenile, and child protection matters in Martin County. Through his experience, Adam has seen how the justice system can quickly roll over an unsuspecting parent or defendant who does not quite understand the often complex procedures and rules involved in cases. Adam is a zealous advocate who is knowledgeable about the criminal and juvenile justice systems and works with his clients to understand their cases and their options.

When not working, Adam enjoys spending time with his partner and his two lab mixes, Jet and Onyx. Adam is also an avid reader and a theatre buff who enjoys both attending and acting in plays. He also serves on the board of an arts non-profit in his hometown and is always looking for ways to help other non-profits he believes in.

Erin Darsow, Paralegal

Erin graduated from William Mitchell College of Law (now Mitchell Hamline) in May 2015. While attending law school, Erin worked with the Carver county public defender’s office as a student attorney. Prior to law school, Erin earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis on Law, Criminology, and Deviance, during which she worked as a teaching assistant for the Sociology department, and also as an intern with Restorative Justice of Minnesota. Erin also has volunteer experience with the Amicus One-to-One program.

Erin worked extensively with the YMCA of the North for almost 4 years to work with families in need of childcare programming, and to also assist the organization with financial and organizational tasks. A paraprofessional program introduced by the state of Minnesota has allowed Erin to return to the area of law, an area in which she has consistently maintained a strong passion for. Erin enjoys helping people and is eager to help assistance and support to people during difficult times.

When not working, Erin enjoys spending time with her two dogs (Cooper – German Shepherd; Bella – Belgian Malinois) and her Siamese kitten, Kimchi. Erin enjoys watching true crime documentaries and has a passion for the Minnesota Vikings. Through a group of like-minded Vikings fans, Erin works with various volunteer opportunities throughout the year (e.g., volunteering at the Children’s Hospital or participating in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge).
